This course provides an overview of the computing industry and computing profession, including research and applications in different fields; an appreciation of computing in different fields such as biology, sociology, environment and gaming; an understanding of ACM requirements; an appreciation of the history of computing; knowledge of the key concepts of computer system (organization and architecture), malware, computer security, internet and internet protocol, HTML4/5 and CSS.
This course provides an introduction to information assurance. It covers fundamental concepts necessary to understand the threats to security as well as various defense against those threats. The material includes an understanding of existing threats, planning for security, technology used to defend a computer system and implementing measures and technology.
This course is an introduction to the Python programming language for students without prior programming experience. We cover data types, control flow, object-oriented programming, and graphical user interface-driven applications. The examples and problems used in this course are drawn from diverse areas such as text processing, simple GUI creation.
