Philippine Literature

The course focuses on the appreciation of the students in our own literature as one of the major channel in transferring knowledge in teaching learning process. Literature also serves as key for enriching the experiences of humans intellectually and personally. This subject will also let the students appreciate the beauty of others’ creativity and giftedness. It also entails knowledge in becoming better critical thinkers.

World Literature

The continued study of literary forms of genres, exemplified this time by scheduled literary texts from various countries written during different historical period.

PURPOSIVE COMMUNICATION HM1A

Purposive Communication is about writing, speaking and presenting to different audiences and for various purposes. (CMO 20 s 2013). Purposive Communication is a three-unit course that develops student’s communicative competence and enhances their cultural and intercultural awareness through multimodal tasks that provide them opportunities for communicating effectively and appropriately to a multicultural audience in a local or global context. It equips students with tools for critical evaluation of a variety of texts and focuses on the power of language and the impact of images to emphasize the importance of conveying messages responsibility. The knowledge and skills, and insights that students gain from this course may be used in their other academic endeavours, their chosen disciplines, and their future careers as they compose an produce relevant oral; written, audio visual and/or web-bases output for various purposed.

WORLD LITERATURE U3G

WORLD LITERATURE C1

This course surveys literature from all parts of the world--including Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East--from the 1600's up to the present. The literary selections, serving as vehicles for understanding the experiences of the human family, are studied for appreciation of their artistic and cultural value. It is also the continuation of the study of literary forms or genres, exemplified this time by selected literary pieces from various countries, written at different periods in history.

Philippine Literature CS2

Technical Writing

This course is designed to equip students to communicate effectively in the world of business. It is more focused on the technical aspects of the writing process. It deals with training the students to write a clear, well-organized business letter, technical reports, memoranda, feasibility studies and other forms of business and technical communication. It also focuses on teaching students to fill-out forms and enhance their confidence through a one-on- one interview as a basic preparation in seeking for a job.

PHILIPPINE LITERATURE U2P
